After an extended hiatus, the sun has finally graced us with its warmth. A wet and dreary spring has blossomed into a lush and green summer. Time to celebrate life and burst out of the habits formed in winter’s cavern. Time for afternoon thunder bumpers to roll in and wash away the day’s clamminess, coating the pavement with low-hanging layers of steam. Time for vigorous gardeners to embrace the raw power of photosynthesis. Time to ignore convention and routine and make a sudden run for ice cream, a splash in the pool or a lazy float down the Mighty Mo. Time for insects to explode in a cacophonous chorus that stirs the spirit and soothes the soul. Time to ditch the itinerary and the to-do list and take a vacation from the same old, same old! You might be surprised what you discover right here in your own back yard.
It’s a bittersweet time at Signature MONTANA magazine. We say good bye to Art Director, Lisa Krebs. Lisa joined our publishing team nearly three years ago and was instrumental in bringing Signature MONTANA magazine to the next level. As she heads in a new direction, we wish her the best of luck on her journey. At the same time, we welcome award winning designer, Jennifer Moore, to the Winston Publishing family. Armed with over a decade of experience, the extremely talented Moore steps up to steer the ship as Art Director. Moore came to us from Spokane Metro magazine (based in Spokane, Washington) where she led the creative team and helped take the magazine to award winning levels. Welcome aboard Jen!
We have assembled another engaging line-up of editorial for our summer issue. We follow the brush strokes of a local artist whose accurate portrayal of wildlife captures the spirit and personality of each animal he paints. We catch up with Renaissance man, Bob Langevin, who discredits the coined adage "jack of all trades and master of none", and if you are in the need for speed then hold on as we put the pedal to the metal at the Montana Driver In-Vehicle Education training facility near Lewistown. We saddle up for a lesson in responsible, self-sustaining living at the Pine Butte Guest Ranch on the South Fork of the Teton River. We head to the station and climb aboard the Oriental Limited and ride the rails back to a grand era where the conductor may have been the face of the railroad but the dining car was the heart and soul. Fire up your appetite and get your grill on for some locally grown cuisine served up fresh at Izaak’s in Craig. Browse through an assortment of photos in the latest addition to Signature MONTANA magazine, "People and Parties." You never know who will turn up, it might just be you!
This is just a taste of what to expect in this eye bending issue of Signature MONTANA magazine. Now get out there and enjoy the warm rays of the season and don’t forget to check us out on Facebook and our website, www.signaturemontana.com, for news, updates, photos and more… it’s your link to the region’s most read and talked about magazine.
